Is there a Buddhist wedding ceremony?

Well, all the weddings I've seen it in a church. With a priest and a bible, and the holy father, blah blah blah. Well, I am Buddhist, and my daughter is borderline atheist. So, we probably will not a Christian marriage. So it got me thinking, as she and I agree on everything, and are completely stunned. So why not something quite unusual and have a Buddhist wedding ceremony. But the question is, do they exist? I do not know if this affects anything, but P'ang the idea may be amended by a little. I am a Buddhist first in my family. Does it have any influence?

Yes, Buddhist wedding ceremonies exist in all Buddhist traditions. These ceremonies are very variable, that marriage is as much a cultural activity as it is a spiritual event. I made a number of wedding ceremonies. If the couple are active practicing Buddhist the ceremony takes a more traditional form. If the couple identify with the Buddhist teachings, but are not Buddhists active, then the ceremony typically takes a looser, more "invented" the approach, with the active torque. I suggest you find a Buddhist teacher in your community that might be willing to perform the ceremony. Then, talk with him on this type of ceremony may be possible. Best wishes for your ceremonial Subsequent ============ Note: In the ceremonies I realized, I work with the couple to resolve family issues. Some families have no problem with a Buddhist ceremony oriented, while others can be challenged by him. Because the entire ceremony The form can be quite loose, they can usually work on these problems. I do not really want a ceremony in which some people might take offense – it's not a good way to start a marriage. one thing I do not change for throughout the ceremony are the vows. If both parties are practicing Buddhists, traditional vows are not a problem. However, I wrote a new version of the vows that I use for couples who do not identify so strongly with Buddhism. These desires stem from elements of the Eightfold Path – the buddhist path of happiness. I will send you a copy of the vows – Feel welcome to adapt them as you want!
