Bible readings at a funeral – do not know what to do?
My aunt was a kind of Catholic, she did not, but she went and things. It was the only part of my family that I really love. She died this past Monday, and I want to go to his funeral but I know he will read Scripture, and I do not know what to do. I have a very physical reaction to the Bible is read aloud due to abuse – I can play normally, but not heard – mostly my stomach clenches and I gagged, while my hands went up over my head. If I am prepared for it I can usually avoid the arm of reflex, but not stomach-gag reflex that can cause vomiting. I do not want to jump to his funeral but I do not know what to do. I not pray to Jesus to save me from anything, never saved or "born again" person I knew was horrible I do not want to be like them, thank you. Thank you, I'm in therapy since the age of thirteen, I'm much better than I used to be, for sure. I work now.
