Cosmology is the branch of science that studies the origin and evolution of the universe. Since the philosophy of evolution is the underlying assumption of cosmology, it is expected that many of their conclusions will conflict with the biblical story of creation. It is therefore good to know if these conflicts erupt for scientific reasons or because of philosophical assumptions.
