Difference between 1953 and 1983, the Afrikaans Bible?
What is the difference between 1953 and 1983 versions of the Bible in Afrikaans? I heard that the 1953 version was more accurate and better translation, is it true? Or is the 1983 version simply translated into Afrikaans more modern? Which version is better? Thank you ..
The 1983 edition is a revision of 1933 to celebrate the original Afrikaans Bible. Conservatives tend to prefer the 1953 version while young people and liberals as the new 1983 edition. Previous Bibles were based on Dutch Bibles.
